On Thursday evening, a small group of producers and dignitaries were on hand as the Iowa Pork Producers unveiled their new Pork Tent at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and IDALS Deputy Secretary Grant Menke were both on hand for the ribbon cutting and celebration marking the new facility, which will serve hungry fairgoers and help educate the public on the facilities used to provide a safe pork product.
Doug Rice is the Chairman of the Iowa Pork Producers Pork Tent Committee. He started the dedication by thanking those who made this vision possible over the past five years.
Rice talks about what you can expect to see at the fair this year. The building may be new, but the commitment to the product and atmosphere is always the same.
The Iowa State Fair runs August 10th ? 20th.
