All the people saw this and began to mutter, ?He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.? -Luke 19:7
Being a pastor’s wife means coming in contact with large groups of people, all the time.
We particularly do youth ministry right now, and there are times where I catch large groups of teens together and then a couple of individuals off sitting by themselves.
It’s easier to go be with the large group because I am reaching more people all at once. I am actively engaging with all of them.
My intentions are pure. I want all of the teens to know that they have my attention and I care about what’s going on in their week.
However, recently God has revealed to me why He is God and I am not. His thoughts are completely different than my thoughts.
I was reading scripture this week and noticed that every single time Jesus left the crowd to minister to the individual.
We rationalize leaving the individual to tend to the crowd.
Jesus constantly left the large group of people to meet with people like Zacchaeus or the woman at the well.
Today, I challenge you to step away from the large group of people and go meet with that one that may need you more. Afterall, it’s what Jesus would have done.
Prayer: “God, thank you for revealing to me how my life should look. Help me to see the individuals that need me to step out and be Jesus. In your name I pray, Amen.”
