The 2021 Iowa Farm Bureau Annual Meeting wraps up today in Des Moines. Yesterday there were great breakout sessions, delegate meetings, Young Farmer & Rancher groups, and more. It was time to meet, in-person, and talk about the issues of another year in Iowa Agriculture.
Audio: Full interview with Iowa Farm Bureau President Craig Hill
While it was great to feel like things were a little more normal, change is on the horizon for the Iowa Farm Bureau. After a decade at the helm of the organization, Iowa Farm Bureau President Craig Hill is stepping down after this year.
As 2021 winds down, the first order of business is to reflect on how that year went for the members of Iowa Farm Bureau. Hill remarked on the pleasant surprises that many saw in a challenging year.
As the organization looks ahead to 2022, they do so under new leadership. Hill looked back on his time at the tiller and said that isn?t just one person that keeps an organization like the Iowa Farm Bureau strong. It takes all 155,000 family members to help keep the ship afloat and on course.
This isn?t just the ending of a chapter for the Iowa Farm Bureau, but also for Hill himself. He talked about the fact that he has been involved with the organization his entire life. He just felt it was time to spend more time enjoying the family time available.
We here at the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network join with many others in wishing Craig Hill the best as he starts his new chapter, and look forward to working with the new Iowa Farm Bureau President being chosen today.
