Last month, Iowa Agriculture Secretary Mike Naig called the Iowa State Fair the “Super Bowl of Iowa Agriculture’, and so far, it hasn’t disappointed. We had a great Governor’s Charity Steer show and a great Bacon Buddies program. Not to mention the butter cow, eggs, on a stick, and the livestock shows happening this week.
The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) has been hard at work, making the fair a great showcase of the hard work Iowa farmers are doing, and celebrating the longevity of the industry,
Naig talks about the difficulties and stresses that Century and Heritage farms have had to endure. Challenges are nothing new to the ag industry.
Naig also highlights the work being recognized during the Environmental Awards coming later this week.
The Iowa State Fair runs through Sunday, August 20th.
