On Tuesday during his weekly ag conference call with farm broadcasters and reporters United States Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) discussed the future of the farm bill process.
House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member Angie Craig and other Democrats have warned that the farm bill coalition has been weakened and the path to passing a five-year farm bill has been disrupted by including farm bill improvements in the reconciliation bill.
Grassley was asked if the path to a new five-year farm bill has been threatened by the farm bill updates that were included in the reconciliation bill.
Grassley says that SNAP funding should be returned to pre-pandemic levels to reduce debt.
