United States Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) was in Iowa this week to continue his yearly 99 county tour with question-and-answer sessions during his stops.
Senator Grassley says he was asked by Iowans about the potential for payments to farmers impacted by trade disruptions and tariffs.
He mentions that USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins has already discussed potential market disruption payments for farmers caught in the crossfire of the trade war.
Grassley says he would like the EPA to increase biofuel blending volumes as part of the Renewable Volume Obligations (RVOs) to help offset some of the losses in trade.
Senator Grassley made his comments on Friday during his weekly ag conference call with farm broadcasters and reporters.
