Grassley discusses farmer concerns at Iowa State Fair

by | Aug 8, 2025 | 5 Ag Stories, News

United States Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has visited the Iowa State Fair at least once every year since 1974. On Friday he made his annual visit to the fairgrounds and stopped by the Iowa Ag Radio exhibit.

Senator Grassley tells the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network that although there is still time for a farm bill in 2025, 2026 appears to be more likely for a “skinny farm bill.”

Grassley says that the fertilizer to grain cost ratio right now is a major concern for farmers.

Grassley says that while it has been difficult to be outside the decision making on tariffs, President Trump is exercising his authority on tariff implementation.
