Grain markets could see another price rally in June

After making recent highs, the corn and soybeans prices have been somewhat in the red, leading some farmers to wonder if they missed out on potential profits. However, they may have another chance to take advantage of a price rally. Micheal Weidner, director of grain origination and producer strategy at Landus Cooperative, said the odds show that prices could hike up again.

On the corn side of the marketplace, Weidner said now is the time for producers to recalibrate their plans and figure out how to attack another potential price rally.

Since the USDA is predicting a big soybean crop, Weidner said the weather in June and July could make things exciting if it turns dry.

As always, Weidner said it’s important to block out the noise from the news headlines and focus on setting plans and goals that make sense for your farm.
