When we made up our fun little ag bingo card for the Iowa State Fair, we had a meeting over what we needed to make sure to put on it. It had to be something you were guaranteed to see while you were here. While the number one pick was the pork chop on a stick, the second choice was Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds. If you don’t see the Governor during the fair, you aren’t looking hard enough, because she’s everywhere during every day of the fair.

One of the things that she has been doing is hosting “Fairside Chats” with Presidential Candidates that are visiting the fair and hearing from citizens all over the state. Governor Reynolds says that they have seemed to be well received by the public.

Reynolds says that it was important to open the Iowa State Fair to Presidential candidates, so they could hear from Iowa’s farmers and Ag groups, first-hand, about the policies that are helping and hurting the ag industry in the state.

The Governor said with the number of media affiliates here at the fair covering the candidates, more people are being exposed to what Iowans are all about.

The Iowa State Fair runs through August 20th.
