As the month of April winds down, ethanol industry leaders are anxiously awaiting the release of the GREET model which will determine eligibility for tax credits for ethanol used in sustainable aviation fuel.
The model will determine the future of the ethanol industry and could provide the next ethanol growth period if used in SAF.
Renewable Fuels Association president and CEO Geoff Cooper says he expects an answer soon from EPA, along with the energy and agriculture departments.
Cooper says timing is key for investment if the current administration wants to hit its production goal of 30+ billion gallons of SAF by 2050.
