As we move through the second month of 2023, many Ag groups have their priorities already thought out, however as new information comes in and events unfold, they sometimes have to regroup and tweak their strategies and priorities a little bit. That is especially true for those who monitor our trade situation around the world.
With new information coming from USDA?s assessment of 2022 showing high values but low volumes, Farmers for Free Trade Executive Director Brian Kuehl says that it is really a double-edged sword.
This means that trade could look different in 2023. We could be looking at a trade deficit for the first time in a while. This is not welcomed news. In fact, it paints a bleak future If we cannot turn it around.
Kuehl talks about the priorities which Farmers for Free Trade has set for this year.
They also have a few overseas priorities that they are hoping get moved to the forefront sooner rather than later.
