Colfax Sheep Auction: March 21, 2015

COLFAX, Iowa – Easter is only three weeks away, and a substantially higher number of sheep and a wide range of weights on goats mark a seasonal uptick in animals sold at the Saturday auction in Colfax. With 589 head of sheep sold, feeder lambs fetched an average $2.50 per pound, while fed lambs brought in $1.33 per pound. Prices on the 122 head of goats ranged from $127.50 to $230 per head, with weights between 30 and 105 pounds.
