Changing tires can cut fuel costs this planting season: Brad Harris, Firestone Tire

by | Mar 4, 2015 | Interviews

PHOENIX – Given current crop prices, Firestone Field Engineer Brad Harris says changing tires can be a cost-effective way to get the most of out existing equipment; he says producers can reduce their fuel costs from two to four percent just by changing tires.

At the 2015 Commodity Classic, Harris explained that using Firestone’s new AD2 tire technology, producers can more load than a standard radial pressure at the same inflation pressure, with the goal of limiting soil compaction and improve in-field traction.

Harris says the entire year is covered, from planting to harvest. Tractors, combines, grain carts, implements and sprayers are all beneficiaries of AD2 technology, which he says makes a big difference in years that see wet conditions in spring, fall, or both.
