Practical Farmers of Iowa (PFI) is inviting beginning and aspiring farmers looking for guidance and support to apply for the next round of their Savings Incentive Program. The two-year program helps beginning farmers by providing mentorship from experienced farmers, the opportunity to save money and receive matching funds, and much more. Kayla Koether, PFI’s senior farm viability manager, talked about how this program can aid newer farmers in getting their feet fully off the ground.

Koether said that their savings match component is one of the several factors that producers appreciate the most from the program.

Koether said that beginning farmers must be members of PFI and farm in Iowa or bordering counties in surrounding states to be eligible.

Koether added that PFI looks forward to welcoming a variety of farmers from diverse backgrounds into the Savings Incentive Program.

Applications are due November 20th. Full details and the application form can be found at practicalfarmers.org/savings-incentive-program.
