April another month of widespread growth for U.S. pork exports

As customers continue to show that they value sustainably grown food and products that they can trust, United States pork exports remain strong by adhering to those principles. Pork exports during the month of April saw opportunities for growth. Recent U.S. Meat Export Federation data shows exports were up 15 percent over a year ago.

That?s Kelli Wicks with the National Pork Board. One area of growth for United States pork exports has been South Korea, which saw its largest growth in four years.

Mexico continues to be number one in volume and value for U.S. pork exports, but the expansion in the Philippines and Malaysia brings attention to the monthly report.
