Agoro Carbon has added legumes into a cover crop mix, which expands their carbon market offerings to farmers. Clay Craighton, Agoro Carbon strategic accounts manager, said the addition will allow legacy farmers- who are already utilizing cover crop strategies- to join Agoro Carbon Alliance and start receiving payments for carbon sequestration.
Craighton said Agoro will look at a farmer’s previous practices and determine if they qualify for the program.
Not only do legumes provide carbon credit benefits, but they also offer cover crop benefits as whole.
Craighton added that Agoro has regional agronomists and an online knowledge hub to offer support to farmers each step of the way.
