American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall testified yesterday in front of the House Agriculture Committee about climate change and the agriculture sector. Duvall stated that American farmers and ranchers have already made great strides in improving the impact they make on the environment. He cited studies that show that the Ag industry only accounts for ten percent of greenhouse gasses in the U.S. even as we improve our productivity.

Duvall added that farmers are enthusiastically embracing new technologies and practices and look to see how research can find more ways for them to improve their environmental impact.

Duvall finished by saying that producers are in a unique position in the battle against climate change and are ready to help.
