Grassley sees Section 301 as back-up if courts block Trump tariffs

Brazil has been a hot topic in United States ag policy in recent months, and United States Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) says that is justified. Senator Grassley says that the Section 301 probe just launched against Brazil is needed in case President Trump’s tariffs, which includes a 50% duty, are overturned.

The United States ethanol industry has been voicing its displeasure at the 18 percent Brazilian tariff that has essentially locked United States ethanol out of the country of Brazil.

In other trade dispute news, the American Soybean Association is calling on President Trump to pull back stiff soybean tariffs during trade talks with China and commitments for future purchases.

The United States recently extended trade talks with China another 90 days to November 10th.
