Iowa producers can optimize grain storage with GrainVue

For many years, grain storage has been a largely manual process. Once the grain is in the bin, farmers have to constantly monitor the conditions to make sure nothing spoils and leads to yield loss. However, the latest technology makes it to where grain storage maintenance can be mostly automated- and in fact, it can even be optimized to take advantage of different times of day, like the overnight hours, which allows farmers to rest a little more easily. Randy Sheley, grain conditioning product specialist with GSI, said GrainVue can monitor many factors and automatically adjust conditions in the grain bins.

Sheley said GrainVue also cuts down on labor by allowing for remote maintenance from a smartphone.

GrainVue doesn’t just do everything solo, though. Farmers are alerted of what changes are made so they can know exactly what is going on with their storage system.
