Early in the growing season, as spring transitions to summer, the weather can be unpredictable and difficult to deal with for growers. Eric Bartels is a northwest Iowa Beck’s Hybrids agronomist, and he says that June has delivered no shortage of weather challenges to northwest Iowa’s farmers.
Despite most crops bouncing back from weather damage this June, Bartels says there are some notable exceptions.
He adds that the level of white mold pressure is difficult to predict for this season but notes that areas that have dealt with white mold in the past can expect to deal with it again when weather conditions align.
