South American Weather and Crop Update (4-8-25)

by | Apr 8, 2025 | 5 Ag Stories, News

As tariffs continue to shake up the economy, many eyes are on South America to see if the country’s crops will be able to help meet global demand. Allendale commodity broker Greg McBride said rain has returned to Brazil after a dry spell.

McBride said there is a bigger concern about the dryness in Argentina, but overall there aren’t too many weather problems in South America.

McBride said planting in Brazil has wrapped up, and harvest is continuing to move along.

The dry weather in Argentina is helping harvest progress there as well.

Additionally, the April WASDE report will be released this Thursday. McBride said they do not expect to see very many changes to the South American crop, if there even are any at all.
