It might be the middle of January, but it won’t be too long, and we will be ready to return to the fields for another growing season. One of our main jobs when growing a crop is feeding and protecting those plants. To do that you need to have a sprayer that you can trust to do the job. The technology in sprayers is growing by leaps and bounds, but buying a new sprayer isn’t always an option in a farm’s budget.

John Deere has been advancing the technology of spraying into the future. Look no further than their See & Spray technology. It allows the sprayers to watch the fields and only spray where treatments are needed. By eliminating broadcast spraying in certain situations, farmers are cutting back on their expenses for certain crop protection tools. But when the technology was first introduced, you had to buy a whole new piece of equipment. And during this economic climate, it’s not always the top priority for farmers.

John Deere’s Tyler Hogrefe talks about how John Deere has been able to make retrofit kits for older sprayers to add the See & Spray technology to existing implements. It’s all about meeting the customer where they are.

Beyond costs, John Deere has also improved the technology which will allow the See & Spray implements to be operated at a higher speed. Thus, shaving time off your chemical applications.

Being able to have a smart sprayer that can make these kinds of decisions in less than a second helps farmers be comfortable with knowing that their crop protection will not only be cost-efficient, but effective as well.

Also, if you need to do that traditional broadcast spraying, the See & Spray Equipment is still going to do a fine job of that as well. See & Spray will adapt to whatever your operation will throw at it.
