At a time of lower commodity prices, Farmers Business Network is attempting to give growers all the tools to save money on inputs and purchase those inputs at the right time for their operation. FBN also is also helping farmers to find new income streams via sustainability programs listed on the FBN platform.

Ian Loar is the senior vice president of strategy at Farmers Business Network and he says that a recent FBN survey of U.S. farmers found the top reason for delaying purchases for the 2025 season is due to lack of cash.

Loar says that the costs of active ingredients have also normalized to give farmers a bit of relief.

He says that farmers should not try to save by cutting on inputs, instead they should think of their input costs as an investment towards maximizing yields.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of FBN and Loar says that the infrastructure investment by FBN in the state of Iowa allows the company to serve Iowa farmers better than ever.

FBN says that it has provided $2.5 billion in financing for land, equipment, and inputs and additionally has paid more than $33 million in sustainability premiums to growers over the past decade.
