As we enter the late July growing period the weather nationally is for the most part cooperating during a key part of the growing season. Right now, there are not any major weather concerns for the stretch run of July says USDA meteorologist Brad Rippey.
Nationally the good weather has led to decent crop ratings. This week corn lost one percent in the good to excellent rating, gaining one percent in the poor or very poor category.
Rippey says there were no changes in soybean ratings this week.
That is a big improvement over 2023 when 54% of beans were rated good to excellent and 14% fell into the poor or very poor rating.
