Last week the U.S. Meat Export Federation held their annual meeting in Kansas City, MO. It came when livestock markets were in a state of heavy fluctuations. The Cattle market is seeing a little more of the volatility than the hogs are. There have been some erratic shifts in the marketplace.
Randy Blach is CEO of CattleFax and he talks about what the market has been doing.
Normally we would have seen prices pick up in the spring, but the H5N1 scare derailed that rally.
Blach says it is more about economics than anything else.
Bach also says rebuilding the herds is moving along well.
