ADM is expanding its thriving re:generations program- now in its second year- to allow more farmers to increase their profits and their positive impact on the environment and soil health. With the support of a USDA Climate Smart grant, re:generations is providing 18 states and three Canadian provinces with financial incentives and technical support for implementing regenerative ag practices like cover cropping and conservation tillage. Theo Gunther, Iowa program manager, said this will help both farmers who are already using these practices and those who want to expand their usage of regenerative ag.
Regenerative ag practices are becoming more and more popular within the industry, so Gunther said now is a great time for re:generations to expand.
Gunther said Practical Farmers of Iowa (PFI) has also played a huge role in increasing the popularity of regenerative agriculture.
Re:generations offers tangible benefits for the usage of regenerative ag practices, which Gunther said should help offset the risks farmers take by switching.
Gunther said they also offer a lot of flexibility for farmers through the program.
Additionally, ADM will be hosting a community meeting on Monday, August 21st from 10AM to 2PM at the Turner Hall in Keystone, Iowa, for farmers to learn more directly from program representatives.
