Hunters in Iowa still have plenty of time to go turkey hunting this spring. Mick Klemesrud with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources says turkey season runs through May 15th. The first spring turkey season began back on April 11th, and Klemesrud says there’s been some success early in the season.
Klemesrud says hunter safety needs to be at the top of everyone’s list when heading into the woods.
Klemesrud adds hunters need to identify their target before pulling the trigger.
