Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue participated in a roundtable discussion with Iowa Ag Secretary Bill Northey, Representative David Young and Governor Kim Reynolds today.
?It?s great to have Secretary Perdue back in Iowa. We talked about how crop insurance is working and what more could be done,? Northey says.
The panel also discussed tax reform.
?We had a farmer bring up the death tax and how hard it is to move a farm, especially when they are really valuable, even though they may not be making money very much, there is a challenge with (succession and passing on the farm).
The panel discussion took place at noon today in Johnston.
