The Biden administration?s Environmental Protection Agency is still considering including eRINS in its final Renewable Volume rule the agency is required by court order to issue by the middle of the month. But two Senators are leading the charge to stop that from happening.
United States Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and John Cornyn (R-TX) are sponsoring a bill to stop the EPA plan to cover eRINS from biogas projects like anaerobic digesters that make renewable electricity for EVs.
That?s Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley. Grassley says the inclusion of EVs is something the Renewable Fuels Standard never intended.
The move by the EPA has prompted Grassley to join with an oil-state Senator, in Cornyn, to oppose the plan.
Grassley says the EPA says it may still include eRINS in future Renewable Volume rules.
