Fighting SDS and white mold with a biological seed treatment

by | Apr 21, 2023 | 5 Ag Stories, News

Sudden death syndrome and white mold are two of the biggest problems for soybean growers in the upper Midwest and the state of Iowa. These yield robbers must be dealt with if a farmer has any hopes of a good growing season and high yields.

Colin Dutcheshen president of Heads Up Plant Protectants says that his company helps to combat both white mold and sudden death syndrome in soybeans through a biological seed treatment.

Dutcheshen says Heads Up Plant Protectants features the first EPA-registered seed treatment for both white mold and sudden death syndrome in soybeans.

He says Heads Up Seed Treatment works alongside applied insecticide and fungicide to further help soybeans fight SDS and white mold.

Dutcheshen says that SDS is a problem fungus that is difficult to get rid of once it has contaminated your soil.

He says that growers need to be aware of the conditions and weather that allow SDS to thrive.
