Don?t look for fertilizer price relief any time soon

The prices for fertilizer have been high because the market has been volatile for several reasons. Chief among these reasons is the Russian invasion of Ukraine. However, this isn?t the sole cause, and prices were rising well before that.

Congress and the Administration are trying to find ways to offer relief for those who need to make these purchases, but should we expect relief any time soon? According to Cory Rosenbush of the Fertilizer Institute, the answer is no.

Rosenbush says that despite the panic we saw earlier, the supply should be fine. The problem will be that the pricing is still volatile, and that will likely continue to be a burden for producers.

Farmers are already concerned about applications after the 2022 growing season is done.

Rosenbush says that producers may be weathering this storm for another year or two.
