KMCD started broadcasting in 1958, and the station has been in the same location since 1959. KMCD is committed to providing the best local programming to its listeners.
In 1976, KMCD added an FM signal, KBCT. The FM signal is now known as KKFD. KMCD is proud to provide local programming with local personalities.
The Speed Channel?s Dave Despain worked for KMCD throughout the 1960s and the station has hosted dozens of celebrities, from presidential candidates to members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Community Involvement: KMCD remains active in many organizations, committees and boards, which enables the station to stay connected with the community. The station staff has great pride in knowing they can make a difference in various ways.
