Companies are looking at ways to keep farming sustainable and profitable, while not sacrificing the resources needed for farming and all life on the planet. The Mosaic Company has added to that push by releasing a new bio-based fertilizer called Susterra?.

Tom Fry is Director of Performance Products at The Mosaic Company. He says that Susterra? is an outcome of their focus on three pillars of soil health: soil replenishment, nutrient efficiency, and sustainability.
Fry talks about what makes Susterra? fertilizer different from what you may have been using the past few growing seasons.
Data is still being collected from this year’s trials. Fry says that more will be coming later this fall. However, the results they are seeing now shows some exciting results.
Fry says The Mosaic Company wanted to offer a fertilizer product that fits in with the growing awareness of soil health, and the consumers? desire to know more about how farmers are working to provide food for the world and be environmentally responsible.
Susterra? will work in tandem with their MicroEssentials? platforms to deliver quick-release and slow-release nutrients for crops to use throughout the growing season.
Fry says that shipments to retailers will begin in November, but with the early harvest, Farmers will be likely looking at applying Susterra? in the spring.
