Following 15 months of construction, Wyffels Hybrids officially opened their new Iowa warehouse and distribution center on July 10th, 2024. The new Iowa site is on roughly 150 acres located between Nevada and Ames near Interstate 35 and highway 30. In addition to warehouse space and distribution capability, the Ames site also features research and agronomy plots.
Steve Woodall is the site lead at the new Ames Wyffels facility, and he says right now the Wyffels team is working on post season activities like repackaging leftover seed from the growing season.
Woodall says that with continued growth, the future plans for the Iowa site include full seed corn production capability, similar to the Wyffels site in Atkinson Illinois.
Jason Fagan is the Iowa Business Relations Manager with Wyffels and he says that the growth of Wyffels’ business in Iowa, South Dakota, and Minnesota necessitated a new Wyffels distribution site.
He says that Wyffels will host an open house during the Farm Progress Show to give customers a firsthand look at the new facility.
The Open House will be held from 4-8pm on Wednesday August 28th at the Wyffels Hybrids Ames site.
