Leaders of some key American agricultural groups testified before the Senate Ag Committee on the state of the U.S. farm economy. American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) President Zippy Duvall said it’s been difficult for farmers to prepare for the upcoming growing season without a new farm bill.

Duvall said U.S. farmers can’t continue losing money at their current rate.

National Farmers Union (NFU) President Rob Larew said even veteran farmers are having significant difficulties in getting financing for 2025.

Larew said even the banks who regularly extend operating loans are struggling right now.

That again was AFBF President Zippy Duvall and NFU President Rob Larew.
