USMEF pursuing opportunities for U.S. beef in Angola

The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) is leading a trade mission to Angola this week, and with the support of the Beef Checkoff Program, U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) Africa Representative Matt Copeland is participating. Copeland said that there are opportunities for U.S. beef in Angola’s higher-end restaurant and hospitality sectors.

USDA’s new Regional Agricultural Promotion Program, which will come online later this year, specifically prioritizes Africa, and Copeland said this could help build momentum in a developing market like Angola.

In addition to meeting with importers from Angola, trade mission participants will also connect with buyers from neighboring Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo. For more information, visit usmef.org.
