USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins was one of the featured speakers at the annual Ag Outlook Forum last week and she addressed the difficulties of the farm economy. Rollins, whose plane back to DC was grounded, addressed the 101st Ag Outlook Forum virtually and said that she aims to get billions in farm disaster aid allocated quickly.

Rollins says you cannot ignore the struggles of the current ag economy.

Rollins says she’s committed to turning things around, starting with disaster aid approved by Congress.

Rollins says USDA is moving at “light speed” to disburse aid and meet or beat Congress’ March 21st deadline. Rollins also pledged to continue the fight against avian influenza, pointing to a newly unveiled billion-dollar containment plan designed to re-populate flocks, improve biosecurity, and drive vaccine research.
