With everything going on in the ag economy right now, the export sales have taken a back seat. The greater focus is more on the Quarterly Grain Stocks and Prospective Plantings reports. Allendale commodity broker Greg McBride said it was a decent week for export sales, but nothing crazy happened.
Audio PlayerSince the Quarterly Grain Stocks report- which will be released Monday- is concerned with old crop corn and soybeans, McBride said there will likely just be slight adjustments, if anything.
Audio PlayerThe Prospective Plantings report will be much more interesting, as that will give a better idea of what this year’s crop will look like.
Audio PlayerAs if there wasn’t enough major news lined up for next week, President Trump’s tariffs are set to resume on Wednesday. McBride said that will be important to monitor, but it’s possible that the grain markets have mostly factored in the risks associated with that already.
