It feels like we have the words ?tight stocks? on a recorded loop every week when we talk to analysts. The truth of the matter is there are concerns about having enough supply to feed the world. These concerns are being fueled by weather and geopolitical factors.
The big question is how long will this situation last?
Joe Glauber is a Senior Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Institute. He says the current situation has the markets very jumpy.
Glauber says that eventually, the markets will work through these high prices that are making imports so expensive for other countries.
Glauber says that is understandable that there are ideas being floated to combat this situation, but that paying farmers to grow extra crops is not going to be the answer.
