We often say that farmers need multiple tools in their toolboxes to take on weeds, pests, and diseases. It takes time to get new products, treatments, and hybrids through the pipeline. Many trials must be run before it can be submitted for approval by the EPA and others.

In the battle against Soybean Cyst Nematodes (SCN) and Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS) in soybeans, it always feels like we are constantly looking over our shoulders and waiting for them to affect our yields. These two require constant changes and rotations to keep them at bay. That is why Syngenta is proud to talk about a product called Victrato®. It is a new seed treatment that will give early protection against SCN & SDS. It is still in the approval process but could be ready for limited use already next year. Syngenta anticipates a full release in 2026.

Dr. Dale Ireland is with Syngenta, and he gives a rundown of what we can expect with the release of Victrato®.

Dr. Ireland echoes the sentiments of many who are talking about how vital it is to have multiple options available, especially against SCN.

Ireland talks about the advantage Victrato® offers farmers against SDS, a disease that has been robbing yields for many years.

Ireland says that the full-season health of your plant starts in the seed bag.

Dr. Ireland says that Victrato® works well with your late-season crop protection tools as well.
