South American Weather and Crop Update (11-28-23)

by | Nov 28, 2023 | 5 Ag Stories, News

Dryness is still the story for weather in South America. Some scattered rains are providing slight relief, but, once again, they need to see more than just scattered rain. Allendale commodity broker Greg McBride gave an update on the latest weather patterns in Brazil and Argentina.

McBride said the weather is still allowing planting progress to move at a decent pace at least.

While it’s still early to make concrete guesses, McBride said this upcoming crop looks like it will be a rebound, with some continued concerns over the persistent dryness.

That dryness is also weighing in on the Brazil-U.S. price disparity, with the U.S. maintaining its advantage in the corn markets.
