United States Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) recently stopped by the IARN tent at the Iowa State Fair and was asked if he thinks the farm bill will be completed before the end of the year.
Senator Grassley has also been involved in recent efforts to introduce a bipartisan bill to increase transparency and oversight of foreign investments in the American agricultural industry through the Farmland Security Act of 2023.
Senator Grassley also provided an update on the status of his Cattle Price Discovery and Transparency Act. The bill aims to help independent cattle producers get a fair market price for their cattle.
With Grassley stopping by the fair on day two of the eleven day run, the Senator was also asked what his must have fair food is, and the answer was short and sweet.
Senator Grassley says that he has made a visit to at least one day of the Iowa State Fair in each year since 1979.
