National Ag Week and Day were two weeks ago, and Iowa celebrated Iowa Ag Week last week. However, the events come to a culmination tonight in Ankeny for the Ag Leaders Dinner. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is expected to speak along with Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig. It’s a celebration of all the work the ag industry and farmers are doing to benefit our state.
Late last week, I had the chance to visit with Secretary Naig about Iowa Ag Week and reflect on what we are doing to help feed and clothe the world.
Naig talks about how resilient Iowa farmers are, and how we can be proud of the young kids that are excited to be the next generation in the industry.
Tonight’s Ag Leaders’ Dinner will be special, as newly appointed U.S. Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins makes her first visit to Iowa and will deliver tonight’s Keynote address. We will have comments from Secretary Rollins tomorrow.
