With the coming flip of the calendar pages and the warm weather we are seeing for the next few days, it is a safe bet that we are going to see harvesting ramp up in earnest. We know there have been combines out here and there, but as Mother Nature is allowing a break in spotty showers, expect farmers to get down to business.
Iowa Agriculture Secretary Mike Naig talks about what he has heard from farmers as we ramp up harvest efforts for 2023. He said that “better than expected” is what he has heard so far.
He said also that it is hard to have rain during the harvest season, but with water levels being so low, we can’t look the gift horse in the mouth either.
