The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) introduced a new initiative in 2024 called the “Young Pork Advocates” for students aged 18-22. The program is intended to help young advocates for the pork industry learn more about the industry and in turn pass that knowledge along to consumers.

President of the National Pork Producers Council Lori Stevermer says that it is important to prepare the next generation of pork advocates to become a voice for the industry.

She says that the Young Pork Advocates will be empowered to inform the public about issues vital to the U.S. pork industry.
