In September, we had the Farm Progress Show in Boone. The event was a great showcase of the advancing technologies in the ag industry, but even with all of that new equipment, one issue remains: how do we get it into the hands of farmers? Iowa 4th District Congressman Randy Feenstra said that?s why he partnered with Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos soon after the event to introduce the bipartisan Precision Agriculture Loan Program Act (PAL) of 2022, which would establish the first-ever federal precision agriculture loan program in the U.S. Department of Agriculture?s Farm Service Agency.
Feenstra said there are a great number of new technologies that will help increase productivity and conservation efforts, so all we have to do is get those technologies out for farmers to use.
Feenstra added that all of these positive changes will come together to ultimately lower the costs that consumers will have to pay for ag products.
