In a victory for America’s pork producers and swine veterinarians, the National Pork Producers Council celebrated a United Nations decision on antimicrobials. NPPC was on hand for the discussion and providing guidance when the U.N. rejected proposed on-farm target reductions of antimicrobials. Dr. Ashley Johnson, the director of food policy for the National Pork Producers Council, said this is a big win for U.S. pork.
Johnson said this allows U.S. farmers to continue to do what is best for their farm.
The NPPC deals with a lot of domestic issues, but the organization is also keeping an eye on what’s going on internationally.
