Fifteen years ago, the development of the We Care? Ethical Principles set a framework to build trust in the U.S. pork industry.
Ashley McDonald is the assistant vice president of sustainability for the National Pork Board and she says that today the We Care App and the Pork Cares Farm Impact Report demonstrate the ethical principles of United States and Iowa producers.
She says the data shows that the U.S. pork industry is part of the solution in the realm of sustainability.
McDonald says once on-farm data is put into the database, producers can share their personalized Checkoff-funded report with lenders, landowners, and the NRCS, as the models have a universal acceptance.
