Storen is a new corn herbicide from Syngenta that boasts broad-spectrum weed control. However, Mark Kitt technical product lead at Syngenta says that the focus on one specific weed helped to drive the development process for Storen.
In addition to effectiveness with pigweed, Storen features four active ingredients for a wide range of protection from weeds says Kitt.
The research and development process for a new crop protection product can take a long time. In fact, it can take as long as 10-12 years for a new product to reach the marketplace.
He says that Storen is not yet available on the market, but it is in line to be available soon.
Kitt says that during the research and development phase of a product it is most important to hear from farmers what they need in a product and then work from there towards that goal.
