We are getting ready to bring May to an end. We talked a lot about mental health as May is Mental Health Awareness Month. We talked about how it isn?t a battle that you have to face alone, and that it is okay to ask for help.
Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig reminds Iowa producers that this message resonates all year long. Naig reminds farmers that it is a sign of strength, not weakness, to ask for help. He talks about resources available to farmers and more coming down the pipeline.
This project with Iowa State University also helps train everyday people to know the warning signs of stress and crisis to help people in rural America. Naig encourages as many people as possible to take the training.
